Identify your own needs
Before you can start looking for an agency, you first need to figure out what your digital marketing needs are.
What are your goals? Are you focusing more on social media presence or email automation? Do you have an in-house team or are you looking for an agency to handle the entire scope of your digital marketing efforts?
Once you’ve got a clear idea of what you need, you can start looking for the right agency that offers what you’re looking for.
Look at their track record
You have a strong idea of what services your company needs, and you’ve narrowed down the scope of possible agencies.
The next step is to look at testimonials. What do previous clients say about the agency? What positive feedback are they giving? Does it align with your own needs? Do they have a proven track record of delivering results?
What are their metrics of success? Are they measuring vanity metrics such as the amount of ‘likes’ they can generate on social media, or are they measuring actual sales conversions? These factors will make a huge difference in whether or not an agency will deliver the results you’re looking for.
What’s their process?
A good digital marketing agency is results-driven. They have goals that align with yours. Open communication from the very beginning is a sign of a good agency. They can clearly guide you through the steps they take to implement their strategies.
Are they open with their marketing processes? Are they receptive to your questions? Most importantly: are they transparent?
